Storm Summary and Projection:
Hurricane Summary POSTED: August 28, 2014 8:48 a.m. Marie Gradually Weakening Marie weakened to a tropical storm and this trend will continue over the open waters of the eastern Pacific as the storm moves over cooler waters. Despite this weakening, the large swells produced by the storm over the past several days have radiated outwards from Marie and will affect the coast from Baja California northward to the Southern California beaches into Friday. These large swells may result in structural damage, significant beach erosion, as well as strong rip currents and minor coastal flooding. No other tropical disturbances are expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the East Pacific Basin over the next 48 hours. By AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Mark Paquette
