Storm Summary and Projection: Hurricane Summary POSTED: October 31, 2014 4:31 p.m.
Tropical Storm Vance Drifts in the Eastern Pacific
Tropical Storm Vance continues to spin slowly west-southwest across the eastern Pacific several hundred miles south of Acapulco, Mexico. Vance will slowly gather strength as it drifts slowly away
from land during the next 24 hours. However, Vance will turn northwest this weekend then to the northeast early next week. Vance will move into areas of reduced wind shear and higher moisture and
should intensify into a hurricane over the next few days. Vance is expected to impact portions of Mexico next week, probably making landfall late Tuesday or Tuesday night. It will bring heavy rain
with the potential for flooding. There will also be gusty winds, especially near the coast.
Elsewhere in the Eastern Pacific, no tropical development is expected.
